We built a podcast set inside an awards gala.

WorkVenture

Awards nights produce a specific kind of content. A person in a suit holds a glass trophy and smiles in front of a sponsor banner. Multiply by fifty. Post to LinkedIn. Collect eleven likes, nine of them from the winner's own HR team.

‍

WorkVenture wanted something else from its Top 50 Companies in Thailand night. The awards rank the companies young Thais most want to work for, and more than 12,000 people voted this year. The room on the night held the leaders of those companies. That is a lot of interesting people to photograph holding glass.

‍

So we built a podcast set on the gala floor. Proper microphones, proper lighting, a place to sit down. We wrote the questions in advance, and I spent the evening interviewing business leaders and guests as they came through.

‍

The set matters more than it sounds. Stop a CEO in a corridor with a camera and you get the press release. Sit the same person down at a microphone and they start talking like a person. The format tells them what kind of conversation this is.

‍

While that ran, a second crew filmed client testimonials in another part of the venue. One night, two crews, two libraries of content: conversations with the leaders of Thailand's most wanted employers, and a set of testimonials WorkVenture can use all year.

‍

The interviews now run on WorkVenture's YouTube channel. They show the side of the awards a trophy photo can't: why these companies are places people want to work, told by the people who run them.

‍

Your event already has the hardest part of content solved. Everyone you want to talk to is in one room, dressed well and in a good mood. Most organisers let them leave with a goodie bag.
